Starting in September 2017 the DCL Academy will open its doors with an initial offering of 10 apprenticeship opportunities.

The Academy will operate from the Direct Commercial’s Head Office at Redwing House in Chelmsford with the apprentices working on a day-to-day basis with the rest of the team. To support their training, the apprentices will have access to a new purpose-built training suite whilst working towards the attainment of the ‘Level 3 Insurance Practitioner’ standard and the completion of the Certificate of Insurance.

CEO Phil Cunningham says ‘This is a project that I have personally taken a keen interest in for the past couple of years and shall be overseeing. It was a pre-requisite when looking at our future expansion plans that space be allocated for the Academy. Our existing and future talent pool is what differentiates us from many of our competitors and by taking control of this we can only improve our offering. This will be a structured programme supported by senior management and will require applicants that are dedicated to pursuing not just a career in Insurance but one at DCL. ‘
