DCL believes that the learning and development of employees is an important factor in the success of the company as well as the individual.
In addition to recruiting high calibre employees, emphasis is placed on the continual development of staff through professional qualifications and skill acquisition through in- house technical and product training.
All staff are required to complete FCA induction training and CPD through the Broker Assess System.
Training and Development Policy
DCL encourages employees to study for professional qualifications mutually beneficial to the employee and the company. Therefore, financial support will be given to employees studying towards the Chartered Insurance Institute CII examinations or Accountancy examinations.
Chartered Insurance Institute CII examinations (Applies to staff that are not part of an Apprenticeship Scheme)
DCL encourages employees within the Accounts department to study for professional accountancy exams, mutually beneficial to the employee and the company. Therefore financial support will be given to employees studying towards one of the following qualifications:
AAT, ATT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA.

Study Leave
The employee is entitled to time off of work to sit the exam. Proof of the booked exam is required to be handed to the Accounts Manager to authorise.
If the exam is in the morning, the employee is entitled to the morning out of work, but expected to return to work as soon as it has ended. If the exam is in the afternoon, the employee is entitled to ‘study leave’ in the morning, meaning the whole day is granted out of the office.
DCL do not offer day release or any time out of normal working hours for study. Should the employee choose to study through a training provider where classroom lessons are provided in the evening, this must be self-funded. Any online training packages must also be self-funded.
